He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Shaker; his wife Catherine; and his children, Joseph (Monica), Michael Shaker (Tuya) and Mary Friend (Jeff).
He is survived by: his children, Alice Silbaugh of Warren, John Shaker (Sue) of Chardon and Teresa Shaffer (Eric). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
