He was predeceased by: his parents, Dempsey Atkinson and Godie Atkinson; his daughter Mary Atkinson; his grandchildren, David Swiatek and Thomas Schneider; and his siblings, Milly Partain and Dottie Kurts.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; and his children, James Atkinson (Ann Marie) of Austintown, Denise Atkinson-Sanchez Warren, Bonnie Frascarelli (Joseph) of Warren and Pamela Smith (Scott) of Youngstown. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
