He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bert Dunbar and Virginia Dunbar; his children, Alison Dunbar-Spencer (Marc Harvey) and Brian Dunbar; his grandchildren, Nathan Dunbar, Madison Harvey, Thomas Spencer and Jacob Spencer; his siblings, Marshall Dunbar (Katherine), Alan Dunbar (Lyn), Donna Evans (Stan) and Stuart C. McLeod of Aberdeen, Scotland.; his pets, Meg and Barney; and his brother Dale Dunbar. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
