We announce the death of Margaret C. Basista of Warren, Ohio, who passed away on October 15, 2026, at the age of 91. Margaret will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dzemyan and Anna Dzemyan. She is survived by: her husband Col. James P. Basista, Sr.; her daughters, Ann Prendergast (James) of Birmingham, AL, Susan Murley (John) of Columbus, OH and Paula James (Brian) of McDonald, PA.; her grandchildren, Erin Prendergast (Sam Woods), Dr. Michael Prendergast, Meghan Brault (Jack), Matthew Murley (Kim), Grace Fitzgerald (Brendan), Brendan James and Nicholas James; and her great grandchildren, Isaac, Bennett and Virginia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren (1884 North Rd NE, Warren, OH 44483). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church (180 Belvedere Ave NE, Warren, OH 44483).
