He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James Hancock Sr. and Viola Jean Moorehead Hancock; his former wife Sharon; and his siblings, David Hancock, Paul Hancock, Robert James Hancock Jr., Gary Hancock and Joan Hyatt.

He is survived by: his wife Karen; his sons, Matthew Hancock (Nicole Abbott) and Michael Hancock (Julie); his grandchildren, Nathan Hancock, Katie Hopkins, Courtney Hancock, Elena Meyst, Zachary Hancock, Megan and Brett Bishop; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Hancock, Jacob Olivas and Benjamin Olivas; and his sisters, Colleen Hancock and Colette Richmond.
