Robert left this world on September 20, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Gillespie and Bessie Melinda Gillespie (Anderson). He is survived by: his wife Linda L. Gillespie of Warren; and his children, Janet Springer of Warren Twp, Robert (Wendy Gillespie) and Brian (Eve Gillespie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the James Funeral Home Inc. (8 E Broad St, Newton Falls, OH 44444). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
