William Joseph Szerdy Sr. Obituary
Lt. William Joseph Szerdy Sr passed away on December 18, 2020, at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren, Ohio.
He was born October 4, 1942, in Painesville, Ohio, the son of Steve and Elizabeth Kuchinski Szerdy, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Corine Hardman-Szerdy, two sons from a previous marriage, Brian and William Jr, along with his siblings, Elaine Shafer (Steve), Betty Joyce Stevens (Bruce), and Steve (Kathy), three grandchildren - Harrison, Lily, and Sydney along with nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and baby brother Edward Steven.
Bill served during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany. From there he worked at Lubrizol and then when he retired he was a lieutenant for the Concord Township Fire Department in Lake County, Ohio.
In his off time, he tinkered with cars, was a skilled carpenter, Atlanta Braves fan, an avid follower of Nascar, and loved to read.
There will be a firefighter service held in the spring due to covid restrictions. Services will be held in Concord Township, Ohio and Bill will be interred in the Ohio National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at that time.
