He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Andrew and Delilah Pamelia Nicholas Heiss; his brothers, Fred and George Heiss; his granddaughter Mindy Heiss; his daughter-in-law Helen Heiss; and his sisters-in-law, Rosemary and Norma Heiss.

He is survived by : his wife Fay Lucile Knoch Heiss; his sons, Donivan Heiss, Jr. (Diana), Edward Heiss (Julie), Timothy Heiss and Shawn Heiss (Maralee); his brothers, Leonard Heiss (Sharon) and Bernard Heiss; and his sister-in-law Camilla Heiss. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad, the L-A Fire & Rescue Squad or the Marietta Recycling Center.
