He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Battles and Juanita Battles (Jolliff); and his brother James Battles. He is survived by: his wife Karen Bockbrader; his son Michael Battles of Dayton; and his sisters, Helen Hein of Indiana and Jane Wyndham of Utah.
