He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Hines and Florian Merrill; and his siblings, Bill, Art Merrill and Alice Sharpe.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Joan Miller; and his daughters, Ann (Ted Barber), Jill (Adam Godziek) and Amy (Sean Wyatt). He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
