He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse J. McFarland and Helena Eleanor McFarland (Borden); his wife Pearl Elaine McFarland (Andre); his former wife Norma Jean McFarland (Edington); his son Russell Eugene McFarland; his stepdaughter Kimberly Owens; his granddaughter Gina Jones; his sister Patricia D. Baker; and his half-sisters, Jane McFarland and Jean McFarland.

He is survived by: his daughter Donna Jean Kenny (Gordon); his stepchildren, Andre May and Connie Miller (Mark); his granddaughters, Shayna and Kimberly; his stepgrandchildren, Jeremy, Kristen, Craig and Steven; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Devon, Samuel, Landon and Gage; his half-sister Mary Ellen Ruthowske (Gino); and his pet Lilly Rose.
