He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse L. and Elsie E. French (Strohl); his wife Mary Isabelle (Dougherty); his son Robert Jesse French II (Patricia); and his siblings, Eileen E Taylor, Eleanor French and William Elwin French.

He is survived by : his sister Jennifer Sponsler; and his children, Kevin L French (Anne), Mary Kathleen Waelde, Valerie Ann Culpepper and Wendy Celeste Laycock (Dennis).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Barndt Funeral Home (121 W South St, Wayne, OH 43466). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bradner United Methodist Church (128 N East St, Bradner, OH 43406).

In-lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Albert Bowe American Legion Post 338, Bradner OH.
