We announce the death of Elaine Mercer (Wayne, Ohio), who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 85. Elaine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Merritt Milbourn and Maxine Milbourn (Wright); her former husband Bill Ryder; her son Mark Ryder; and her husband Leon "Butch" Mercer.
She is survived by: her children, Matt Ryder of Jerry City and Heidi Zeigler (Daniel) of Bowling Green, Ohio.; her grandchildren, Victoria Baney (Andrew) of Van Buren, Ohio, Michael Ryder (Liza) of Greensboro, Joel Ryder (Ashley) of Findlay, Ohio, Wyatt, Ryken and Lily Zeigler of Bowling Green, Ohio.; her great grandchildren, Llewyn, Violet, Lincoln Baney, Laney, William and Brooks Ryder; Bill Ryder.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barndt Funeral Home (121 W South St, Wayne, OH 43466). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rheumatology Research Foundation.
