We announce the death of Gerald E. Wise of Wayne, Ohio, who passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 80. He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert E. Wise and Eileen Rose Wise (Williams); and his brothers, John A. Wise and Delbert Lee Wise. He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Sawyer; his children, Leslie Barndt (Dave) of Bradner and Steven Wise (Teri Jo) of Wayne; his grandchildren, Taylor Melcher (Bryan), Marc Heinze (Farah), Meagan Walters (Branden), Anthony Wise and Gregory Wise; and his great grandchildren, Oliver, Ella Jo, Alayna, Jaxon, Brock, Bentley, Braxton and Baby B. Melcher.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Wise Family Home (5208 Defiance Pike, Wayne, OH 43466).
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's or the Elmwood FFA (specifically to be used for Blue Jackets or Camp Scholarship).
