He was predeceased by : his parents, Julia Ann Walton and Uless Walton. He is survived by : his wife Karen Cox; his siblings, Boyd Walton, Becky White and Linda Catheter; and his close friends, Duane Johnson and Bryan Price.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Ohio State University or the American Cancer Society for Colon Cancer Research.
