He was predeceased by: his parents, Arllie Smith and Ethel Smith; his parents-in-law, Lester and Maureen Durham; his sons, John Kennedy and Aaron Wachter; his grandsons, Nathan Gast and Trey Kennedy; his children-in-law, David Gast and Mary Smith; and his siblings, Clarence Smith, Kenny Smith and Ida Mae Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Smith; his children, Larry Smith (Jean), Michael Smith, Angela Kisser (Paul), Pamela Kulpinski (Greg), Scott Kennedy, Laura Bryant (Michael) and Kayla Royer (Michael); and his brother Vernon Smith (Glenda). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
