He was predeceased by : his parent Lenna Mercedes Messer; his children, Chelsea and Tony; his brother Ted Long; and his former life partner Peggy Loomis.

He is survived by : his granddaughter Sophia Messer (Tony); his aunt Angie Meade; his uncle Wayne; and his brother Brad Long. He is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
