He was predeceased by: his parents, Weitzel Pritt and Cora Backus (Walden); his stepfather Walter Backus; his granddaughter Tara Green; and his siblings, Mattie Kincaid (Garry), Dessie Morris (Roland), Roberta Young, JoEtta Hamilton, Arlene Perdue (James), Ruth Pritt, Charles Pritt (Chubetta) and Walter Vernon Backus (Christine).
He is survived by: his wife Diane Pritt (Perry); his children, Robert Pritt II of West Salem, Daniel Pritt of West Salem and Teresa Green (William Jr.) of Lodi, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Jessica Pritt, Samantha Kurzenberger (Edward II), Cora Green, Cheyenne Hoert, Sara Green and Savannah Boyd (Augustus); his great grandchildren, Madison Pritt, Chloe Lycans, Blake Kurzenberger, Jasper Green, Grayson Kurzenberger, Wyatt Hite, Kaylynn Hite, Anastasia Hoert, Aria Boyd, Aspen Himes and Adley Boyd; his sister Mary Whisman (Douglas); and his brothers-in-law, Clayton Young and Estle Hamilton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home (40 Congress Rd, West Salem, OH 44287). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the West Salem Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the West Salem United Methodist Church (80 W Buckeye St, West Salem, OH 44287).
