We are sad to announce that, on April 5, 2026, at the age of 86, Charlene Marie Short Hammond of Westerville, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Short and Elsie Short; her brother David Short; and her son-in-law Gregory J. Fester. She is survived by: her husband Charles Hammond (Jack); her daughters, Jackie Whalen, Julie Fester (Joe), Linda Frey (Douglas) and Beth Ramsey (Jeff); her grandchildren, Jake Whalen (Amie), Zach Whalen (Samantha), Jennifer Vandevoorde (Kyle), Megan Miller (Dillon), Peyton Fester (Michaela), Ava, Anna, Evan Frey, Jack, Robert, Luke and Logan Ramsey; her great grandchildren, Charles, Henry Whalen, Levi, Gemma Miller and Beau Whalen; and her siblings-in-law, Marcia Short, Shirley Sharp (Hal), Eva Hammond and James Hammond. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlene's honor to the American Diabetes Association, Central College Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.
