He is survived by: his significant other Doris; his daughters, Leah, Renee Carden (Mike), Joy Chappelear (Steve) and Karen Gaines (Harrison); his grandchildren, Michael II (Jamie), Matt Carden, Justin, Alexandra Chappelear, Emma and Sara Campbell; his great grandchildren, Nora, Lily, Fiona, Creed and Isabella; and his siblings, Gene (Pauletta), George and Jane Halbert. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Louisa First Methodist Church.
