He was predeceased by: his parents, Aileen Perry and Russell Ries; his wife Ann Price Gillard; his children, Michael Gillard and Lisa Heasley; his son-in-law Craig Smith; and his siblings, Jacques Gillard and Yvonne Terwilliger.
He is survived by: his daughter Lori Smith; his son-in-law Joe Heasley (Cheryl); his sister Valerie Espinosa; his grandchildren, David Heasley (Bridget), Sarah Heasley (Brad), Nathaniel Smith, Jennifer Smith, Evan Gillard, Annie Chapman and Rebecca Tussing; and his cousin Susan Ford (Terry). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
