She was predeceased by: her mother Margaret Smith Phillips; her siblings, Linda Smathers and Richard Phillips; and her children-in-law, Nona Smathers and David "Mike" Strapp.
She is survived by: her children, John, Lisa Smathers of Lucedale Mississippi, Karla Strapp of Worthington, James Smathers of Michigan, Larry Hansen of Athens and Georgene Christopher of Coolville; and her sister Christine Bennett of Nelsonville. She is also survived by 19 Grandchildren; 30 Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
