He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul L. and Elizabeth; his wife Eleanor L. Blalock; his sons, Paul Jon and Stephen; and his brothers, Robert L. and Charles L. Blalock.

He is survived by: his siblings, Nate Blalock and Caroline; and his daughter Tammy Yost (Bryan). He is also survived by six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
