He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Bob Harter (JoAnn), Eileen Winter (Jack), Mike Harter (Lisa Hill) and Jim Harter (Jules Paxson-Linder); his grandchildren, Steve, Tom, Kristen, Colleen, Ryan, John, Brandon, Bethany, Joshua, Nicole, Katelyn, Jackie and Jimmy; and his sister Betty Lou Rittenhouse.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel (2914 Dover Center Rd, Westlake, OH 44145). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 7:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) and Reserve Care.
