He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford "Pete" Ruby and Elsie Ruby (Roffe); his sister Janet Holcomb (Ruby) of Florida; his parents-in-law, Ossie and Clara Montgomery; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Kaut, Dorothy Gilbert, Ernie Claxon and Jim Holcomb.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Kay Montgomery; his children, Scott Ruby (Jodi), Todd Ruby (Theresa) of Wheelersburg, Debbie Ruby of Cincinnati and Pete Ruby of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Corey Ruby (Nicole) of Oak Hill, Mandi Parshall (Michael) of Cincinnati, Andrew Ruby (Cherokee) of Wheelersburg, Sadie Butcher (Ethan) of Minford, Elijah Ruby (Makayla) of Stout, Ellie Swanger (Sam) of Minford, Hunter Ruby of Wheelersburg, Lane Ruby of Chillicothe and Reagan Ruby of Chillicothe; his great grandchildren, Mason, Parker, Evan Ruby, Liam, Audrey Parshall, Isabella, Jack, William Butcher, Beau, Brennley Ruby and Sutton Ruby; his sister Teresa Claxon (Ruby) of Florida; his brothers-in-law, Danny Gilbert of Circleville and George Kaut of Akron; and his close friend Dave Marcum (Alice) of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home (6710 Swauger Valley Rd, Minford, OH 45653). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
