He is survived by: his children, Donald Kevin Carpenter (Sarah), Becky Kirkbride and Brenda Handschumacher (Roger); his grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher Carpenter, Donald Kirkbride (Whitney), Steven Carpenter II (Jen), Stephanie Carpenter (Chuck Cline), Elisha Barnes (Cliff), Ben Handschumacher (Meghan Duncan) and Ashley Bartlett (Andy); his niece Debbie Tufts; his nephew David Burns; his sister Martha Davis; his daughter-in-law Jeanie Carpenter; his pet Ollie; and his caregivers, Amber, Kendra and Julie. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
