He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Belvin Gibson and Vesta Mae Gibson (Collins); and his siblings, Moss, Don, Chester, Richard, Elsie and Rosie.

He is survived by: his close friend Donita; his daughter Stacey Mae Lofton (Joe); his grandchildren, Lyric and Tahric; and his siblings, Wayne Gibson (Pam) and Frances Miller.
