He was predeceased by: his father Doug. He is survived by: his wife Shayle; his children, Jack, Ruby and Jason; his mother Carolyn Caplan; his stepfather Harry Caplan; his brother Sam; and his stepsiblings, Tom and Jezebel. He is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ocean Conservancy in honor of Matt's lifelong love of the natural world and commitment to preserving our beloved planet.
