John F. Shafer Obituary

We announce the death of John F. Shafer of Wilkesville, Ohio, who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Vernon C. Shafer and Mildred Brooks Shafer; his wife Pearlie Sue Gambill Shafer; his son John Michael Shafer; his son-in-law Mike Lackey; and his siblings, Charles Shafer, Louise Shafer, Margie Shafer and Marcella Harris.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Lackey and Darla Hager (TJ); his grandchildren, Jordan Lackey (Sabrina Adkins), Justin Lackey, Devon Fogel (Ashley), Christen Wolf, John M. Shafer, Andrew Parker Shafer (Kayla Morgan) and Mariah Shough (Tyler Brown); and his sister Phyllis Perry. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
