He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Franks and Arcie Franks Dennis (Davis); and his stepfather Benny Dennis. He is survived by: his wife Linda Franks (Knight); his children, Cindy Houpt (Ron) of Newark and Scott Franks (Robin) of Fairborn; his grandchildren, Jenne, Ashley, Whitny, Laura, Josh and Sarah; and his sister Pat Owens (Charles) of Bellevue. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
