He was predeceased by: his parents, Halden Buckingham and Ruth Buckingham (Haag); his wife Altha Buckingham; his son Eric Buckingham; and his siblings, Hal Buckingham, Mildred Tanner, Robert Buckingham, Evelyn Buckingham and David Buckingham.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Gell (Jim) of Lancaster, PA and Brian Buckingham of Willard; his grandchildren, Kelli Collins, Jacob Buckingham, Lindsey Buckingham, Zachary Buckingham and Kristin Lentz; and his great grandchildren, Finn Lentz, Charlie Lentz, Paisley Buckingham and Edith Buckingham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (401 E Howard St, Willard, OH 44890).
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Western Reserve (Stein Hospice), Sandusky, OH.
