He was predeceased by: his parents, Hessie Tanner and McCumbers; and his sister Lucille Eddy (James). He is survived by: his wife Nina Fae Tanner (Summers); his sons, Gregory James Tanner (Shelly (Gates)) and Jerry Dean Tanner (Valerie Benfer); his grandsons, Cody Brennan Tanner (Kaylee (Smith)) and Jacob Matthew Tanner (Kim); his great grandchild Colsen James Tanner; and his brother Gary Lee Tanner (Lorra (Messenger)). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Church of the Master or Stein Hospice.
