He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernon Fries and Mildred Fries (Smith); his children, Steve Fries and Stacy Fries; and his brother Kenneth Fries.

He is survived by : his children, Sandra Kraft (Dieter), Shirley Fries (Adam), Sheila Buurma (Mike) and Scott Fries (Marilyn); and his sister Corinne Stiving. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Master in Steuben, Ohio.
