She is survived by: her parents, Teresa Sykes (Lutz) and Bryan Sykes; her stepmother Rachel Sykes; her siblings, Brayden Sykes, Kaylor Sykes and Easton Toth; her grandparents, Mary Lutz, Claude, Sonja Gibson, Charles, JoAnne Kaylor and Cheryl Sykes; her aunts and uncles, Charles (Rebecca Plotner), Christina Sykes, Laura Sykes (Seth Bennett), Lisa Gaines-Richman, Justin (Nicole Gibson), Chris (Jackie Gibson) and Nate Bores; and her cousin Cooper Plotner. She is also survived by numerous other cousins and several special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Huron County Humane Society or a Memorial Scholarship for Music being set up in Makenzie's name at Willard High School.
