She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Christopher Cortland Smith and Sadie Corrine Smith (Johnson); her husband Amos D. Thompson; her children, Sheila J. Thompson and Aaliyah J. Karmin; her great grandchild Tristan G. Thompson; her great great grandchild Ahni E. Bass; and her siblings, J. C. Smith, Lazarus H. Smith, Lee W. Smith, Willis C. Smith, Christopher C. Smith, Jr., Harold W. Smith, John W. Smith, Edna L. Hargrove, Sadie M. Hayes and Mary L. Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl L. Thompson-Taylor (late Donal), Denise L. VanLeer (David), Adrian D. Thompson (Tracy), Valerie S. Saunders (late Darin) and Christopher A. Thompson (Tricia); and her sisters, Ida R. Smith, Martha L. Smith and Lillian E. Gregory. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (401 E Howard St, Willard, OH 44890). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
