We announce the death of Meredith Prater of Willard, Ohio, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 91. Meredith will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Prater and Hala Mae Prater (Reffitt); his wife Alice "Fay" Prater (Howell); his brother Dallas Prater Sr. (Isola); and his brother-in-law John Henry Hale.
He is survived by: his son Brian Prater (Linda); his grandchildren, Stacy Gardner (Paul) and Brad Prater (Morgan); his great grandchildren, Vivienne Vanderpool, Kamdyn Vanderpool, Ashtyn Gardner, Tatum Prater, Tenley Prater and Teagan Prater; and his sister Hala Mae Hale. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home (202 W Maple St, Willard, OH 44890). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice or Willard Church of Nazarene.
