He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Smrdel and Ann Smrdel; and his brother Ludwig "Butch" Smrdel. He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise; his children, Donnie Jr. (Julianne), Diane Quintero (Forest Wilson) and Anthony (Donna); his grandchildren, Vince (Halle), Jay, Allana, Quinn, Melanie (Todd), Matthew and Ally; and his siblings, Jan Zalar (Frank) and LouAnn Lemmo (Rick).
