He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Denver Viars Sr. and Minnie Jenkins Viars Hilgenberg; his brothers, Robert and Joseph Viars; and his stepfather Harry Hilgenberg.
He is survived by: his siblings, Connie Church (Jim) of South Point, Bonnie Smith (Barry) of Auburndale, Ronald Viars (Laura) of Ironton and Alvin Viars (Jonette) of Bullhead City, Arizona.. He is also survived by family members and friends.
