He was predeceased by: his parents, Darius Smart and Nettie Smart (Harlow); his wife Carol Ann Smart (Florea); and his granddaughter Timmi Lynn Mahanes. He is survived by: his daughters, Robyn Pickard (Kenny), Rochelle Mahanes (Tim), Kay Longstreth and Kristin Longstreth; his grandchildren, Megan, Adam, Cole, Grant, Chase, Zimri and Bella; his great grandchildren, Marlee, Cecilia and Knox; and his close friend Mickey Current.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wilmington Church of God (100 R Gordon Dr, Wilmington, OH 45177). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
