She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Thompson and Essie Thompson; and her husband Earnel Ward. She is survived by: her children, Alan Ward (Sandy) of Manchester, Lonnie Ward (Diane) of Peebles and Connie Lykins of Peebles; and her sister Marlene Foster of Peebles. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
