She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Otto and Vina Doll Haines; her husband Joseph E. Sampson; her siblings, Goldie Kerr, Ruth Wishart, Norma Webb, Thelma Winkle, Jane Molinatto, Erma Bayus, Edward, Melvin "Dean" and Donald Haines; and her grandchildren, Reid Sampson and Greg Bollinger.
She is survived by: her sons, Tom Sampson (Toni) of Columbus, OH, Randy Sampson (Lynette) of Champion, OH, Joe Sampson of Delaware, OH and Ken Sampson (Cheryl) of Larkspur, CO; her siblings, Peggy Miller and Gerald Haines (Peggy); her sister-in-law Linda Haines; and her grandchildren, Nathan Sampson (Charmaine Sutton), Leah Simoes (Joao), Michael Sampson (Mary) and Amelia Sampson (Colin Gunby). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America or Champion Christian Church in Edith's memory.
