She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Sturgill Sr.; her son Robert Sturgill Jr.; her parents, William French and Ella Van Gilder (Smith); and her brothers, Harold, Donald, Gene, Willis and Larry.
She is survived by: her brothers, Margel Van Gilder (Rosalie) of Spencer and Roger Van Gilder (Pat) of Alabama; and her daughter-in-law Jennifer Sturgill. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
