He was predeceased by: his son Darl; and his siblings, Donald Brooks and Judy Hill. He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Denise Retherford (John) of Jeromesville, Deann Markle of Ashland, Dana II (Tammy) of Wooster and Danette Bartholomew (Chris) of Bayfield, CO; and his brother Larry Brooks (Linda) of Wooster. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Darl W. Brooks Memorial Scholarship, c/o Wayne County Community Foundation, 517 N. Market St., Wooster, OH 44691.
