He was predeceased by: his parents, Nellie Burrill and Cecil Burrill; his brother Lawrence "Skip" Burrill; his stepson Richard Blackledge Jr.; and the mother of his children Melva Strong Burrill.

He is survived by: his wife Monica; his siblings, Agnes Burrill Little (Douglas) of Ontario Canada and Graham (Anne) of Ontario Canada; his children, Laureen Burrill Carpenter of Ashland Ohio, Deana Burrill Chupp (Stephen) of Denver, Tracey Burrill (Thomas Hedemann) of Cheshire and Jeffrey Burrill (Julia Warnes) of Huron; and his stepchildren, Amy Myers (Mitchell) of Cape Carteret and Michael Blackledge (Angelia) of Westerville. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and wonderful friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to the music department at First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster, OH 44691.
