We announce the death of John Richard Welling of Wooster, Ohio, who passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 85. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. John will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. John’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Welling and Ruth Blacka Welling; his sister Ruthann Triplett; and his sister-in-law Jean Welling. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Miller; his children, John Welling, Jr. of Wooster, Eric Welling (Margaret) of Virginia and Kimberly Welling of Cincinnati; and his brother Thomas Welling of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
