He is survived by: his children, Aaron Shields (Misty) and Tara Vaughan (Tim); his grandchildren, Seth Shields, Ben Vaughan, Claire Vaughan and Lauren Vaughan; his great grandchildren, Sophia-Grace, Emma, Lincoln and Maysen Shields; and his brothers, Marcus Shields of Wooster and Jon Shields of Wooster.
