She was predeceased by: her parents, Abraham Gilyard and Sally Lee Gilyard; and her husband Reverend Rufus Thompson. She is survived by: her children, David Thompson (Gladys), Bonnie Engram (Al), Rufus Lynn Thompson, Vicki Saunders, Timothy Thompson (Judy) and Sharon Toles; her grandchildren, Omari, Lindiwe Saunders, Lydia Ellis (Darryl), Suzette Dowell (Paul), Marcus, Marcellus, DeLano Thompson (Maya), Spencer Neal, Alease, Timothy Toles, Hunter and Grace Thompson; and her great grandchildren, Christian, Olivia, Alyssa, Amir, Braylen, Paul Jr., Maiya, Aurora, Luna, Riley, Lyric and Zuri.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wooster United Methodist Church (243 N Market St, Wooster, OH 44691). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
