As Michael departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Michael. Though Michael may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Schmitz; his children, Joie Schmitz (Christopher Wartmann) of Wooster and Stephen Schmitz (Brittany) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Evan Schmitz Wartmann and Callan Michael Schmitz; and his siblings, Jonathan Schmitz (Shannon) of Troy and Kathy Shock (James) of Dayton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (527 Beall Ave, Wooster, OH 44691). A Mass will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens (7067 Cleveland Rd, Wooster, OH 44691). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wooster Country Club (1251 Oak Hill Rd, Wooster, OH 44691).
