She was predeceased by : her parents, Calvin W. Lewis and Minerva Hensley Lewis; her husband Lloyd Combs; and her son-in-law Robert Howson. She is survived by : her children, Laura Howson, Steve Combs (Sheri D.) and Jeff Combs (Karin); her grandchildren, Katlyn Combs and Kyle Combs; her stepgranddaughter Ann Ulerick; her great grandchildren, Krew and Jacoby; and her sisters-in-law, Patsy Lewis, Helen Haddix and Margaret Hubbard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity in her memory.
