He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Curtis and Ailene Curtis; his wife Ruth; and his sons, Jim and Steve.

He is survived by: his sons, Michael Curtis (Tyhese) and Thomas Curtis (Katrina); and his sisters, Gale Smith (Kenny) of Vincent and Helen Faulkner (Chell) of Campton, Kentucky. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
